About DOOR-KIJK

A studio of engineers who refuse to ship what they wouldn’t maintain.

We started DOOR-KIJK because too many software projects end in quiet disappointment. We wanted to build a practice where senior engineers stayed close to the work, where decisions were transparent, and where the result still felt right two years later.

DOOR-KIJK team working together

// Our story

From three engineers to a European practice.

The first DOOR-KIJK project was a rescue mission for a logistics platform melting under its own complexity. We cut the codebase in half, rebuilt the deployment pipeline, and trained the client’s team to keep it that way. That engagement set the pattern for everything since: deep technical work, honest communication, and a stubborn commitment to leaving things healthier than we found them.

// Values

What we stand for.

Substance over surface

We build what works, then make it beautiful — never the other way around.

Boring on purpose

Predictable deployments, observable systems, and architecture you can explain in a sentence.

Skin in the game

We stay accountable to the outcome, not just the deliverable.

Quiet excellence

We believe craftsmanship doesn't need to shout. The system is the proof.

// Operating principles

How we run a project.

  • Weekly demos, never status decks.
  • Production-shaped environments from week one.
  • Pairing and code review across every contributor.
  • Documentation written for the next engineer, not the auditor.
  • On-call hygiene long before launch.
